I'm Javed, and I run PhotonINX, pronounced “photon-inks”: photon, Indiana, and X-ray in one word. You may know the practice as Photon Measurements Plus; the work hasn't changed. I inspect X-ray machines for State compliance at medical, chiropractic, dental, and veterinary offices across Indiana, and I make sure the paperwork reaches the State on time.

Before taking over, I spent time in the field with the previous owner, watching how he set up each test and read the results. It taught me more about the job than any classroom.

My degree is in biomedical engineering from Purdue. It didn't make me an inspector, but it gave me a solid footing in math and a habit of working through problems one logical step at a time. When I measure kVp, timer accuracy, exposure reproducibility, and beam quality, I understand what the numbers mean, and if a reading drifts, I want to know why before I write it down.

I genuinely enjoy this work. The drive between offices is a good part of the day, every stop means meeting someone new, and there's real satisfaction in watching a unit's output match its settings.
